'Billa Ranga Baasha' is a fantasy action drama set in a dystopian future.
Actor Kichcha Sudeep has begun filming his upcoming feature Billa Ranga Baasha, which is billed as a fantasy action drama set in a dystopian future. Directed by Anup Bhandari, the film went on floors on Wednesday as the makers dropped a special first look poster from the film.
Sudeep took to X and shared the poster of Billa Ranga Baasha, which features him in the background of a snow-clad mountain.
"2209 AD - #BRBFirstBlood ⭐️🥂The journey begins today. To us, this mammoth dream and vision of our team, going on floor is an unparalled excitement," the actor wrote.
The film will have a pan-Indian opening as it is intended to release across Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi. Billa Ranga Baasha is produced by K Niranjan Reddy and Chaithanya Reddy under the banner Primeshow entertainment.
This is the second collaboration between Sudeep and Bhandari, who previously worked in the 2022 Kannada action thriller Vikrant Rona. Bhandari shot to fame with his 2015 directorial debut RangiTaranga, starring Nirup Bhandari, Radhika Chetan and Avantika Shetty.
Sudeep was last seen in the 2024 actioner Max, co-starring Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Sunil, Samyukta Hornad and Sukrutha Wagle. The film was a roaring success at the box-office, emerging as the highest grossing Kannada movie of last year.
No release date is attached to Billa Ranga Baasha yet but it is likely that the film will hit the big screens in 2026.
