Release of Telugu Horror '418' Pushed; New Date to Be Announced

The release of 418, the Telugu horror film directed by Kirtan Nadagouda and presented by Prashanth Neel, has been pushed from its earlier July 31 release date. Mythri Movie Makers, the production house backing the film, shared the news of the postponement through an announcement on their official social media channels, stating that a new release date would be announced shortly. No reason for the delay was provided.

The announcement comes after the film's trailer release was also postponed three days earlier. On July 25, the day the trailer was expected to drop, the production banner had announced that the film's trailer would not release as planned, with no reason cited and a new trailer date promised to be announced soon.

418 is written and directed by Kirtan Nadagouda, who has previously worked as an assistant and co-director to Prashanth Neel. The film marks his feature directorial debut. It stars Surya Raj, Charan Lakkaraju and Preethi Pagadala in the lead roles. The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni, Anil Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, with Prashanth Neel presenting it. Cinematography is by Dinesh Divakaran, Venky GG is the film's music composer Ullas Hydur is the production designer.

The film's first look poster, which was revealed earlier this month, showed the interior of a room through the keyhole of a door, with a woman seated on the floor with her back to the viewer.

418 marks Mythri Movie Makers' first venture into the horror genre. The banner is best known for producing the large-scale commercial entertainer Pushpa franchise starring Allu Arjun, as well as Hanu Raghavapudi's upcoming period action drama Fauzi (2026) among other projects.

Prashanth Neel, who is presenting 418, is currently directing Dragon, a Telugu action film starring Jr. NTR and produced jointly by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts. Dragon is among the most anticipated Telugu productions currently in development. Neel has previously presented KGF: Chapter 1 (2018) and KGF: Chapter 2 (2022) as director, and Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire (2023). Salaar: Part 2 - Shouryanga Parvam, the sequel to Salaar, is currently in production.
