The film was launched by Chiranjeevi in a pooja ceremony.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga's upcoming film, starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, has gone on the floors. Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi launched the movie in a pooja ceremony over the weekend. "Chiranjeevi also sounded the clapboard for the muhurtham shot. The first shooting schedule has now kicked off, bringing together a team of powerhouse talent behind this pan-India spectacle," the press note read.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, and Krishan Kumar under the banners of T-Series Films and Bhadrakali Pictures, Spirit also co-stars Vivek Oberoi, Prakash Raj and veteran actress Kanchana.
"Heartfelt thank you to our MEGASTAR CHIRANJEEVI sir for blessing the event with his presence. Sir..... your gesture is unforgettable — we all love you @KChiruTweets #SPIRIT MUHURTHAM," Vanga wrote on X.
While Prabhas wasn't seen in the group picture, Vanga posted a picture of Prabhas holding the clapboard. "Dear fans… I thought PRABHAS anna’s hands were enough to EXCITE YOU ALL...... So on this muhurath day, I’m posting this for you — with gratitude and love. SPIRIT," Vanga wrote.
Spirit is speculated to star Prabhas in the role of an angry young police officer who takes on a mighty mafia syndicate. It is also reported that the sons of Telugu cinema stalwarts, Trivikram Srinivas and Ravi Teja, Rishie Manoj and Mahadhan Bhupathiraju, are part of the film's direction team as assistant directors.
Deepika Padukone was initially announced as the film's female lead, but she exited the project, citing work-hour issues. In response to the controversy, Spirit director Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared his perspective on social media without naming Padukone, expressing his frustration over creative disagreements and accusing the actor of sharing details about the project prematurely. Triptii Dimri has since been announced as Padukone's replacement. Vanga last directed Animal, which co-starred Ranbir Kapoor and Dimri. Prabhas, on the other hand, will next be seen in The Raja Saab.
