Prithviraj Sukumaran has debuted his unsettling first-look as the antagonist 'Kumbha' in SS Rajamouli's next, tentatively titled Globe Trotter. The film, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, is in its final stages, and will mark Rajamouli's followup to the epic success of RRR.
Sukumaran exudes creepy doctor-octopus-meets-Professor-X vibes in the futuristic poster. The actor is seen seated in a nifty wheelchair, manning multiple robotic limbs via a panel. A troop of soldiers and a solitary media van looms in the far distance.
Sharing the poster on social media, Rajamouli was all praise for the Malayalam actor-director, calling him the finest he's ever known. Globe Trotter, true to name, has been shot across the world, including a major schedule in Kenya. Reportedly mounted on a budget of ₹1000 crore, the film is said to blend action, adventure and mythology. A teaser of the film will unveiled at a grand event in Hyderabad on November 15. A previous poster had teased Mahesh Babu's look, displaying a blood-stained chest with a rudraksha, trishool and a Nandi pendant.
One of the leading Malayalam stars, Prithviraj Sukumaran directed the political action thriller L2: Empuraan this year. He also starred in the film alongside Mohanlal. Besides that, Sukumaran played an Indian Army Officer in the Hindi film Sarzameen, with Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan.
Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli recently unleashed Baahubali: The Epic, a one-cut, reedited version of his Telugu masterwork Baahubali. The film has emerged as one of the most successful re-releases of all time.
