Yash Confirms Nayanthara's Role In 'Toxic': 'The Most Badass Sister'

Kannada superstar Yash confirmed that Nayanthara will play his sister in his ambitious upcoming film Toxic. At the recently held trailer launch of the film, Yash spoke about sharing screen space with the Tamil star for the first time. "It takes a lot of grace to choose this film and do what you've done. You're a Lady Superstar. You can run behind individual films, and I know what your market is, but when we came to you with this film, you didn’t have much time in terms of dates, but you committed so well. You look like the most badass sister anyone could have," said the actor.

Yash, who plays Raya and his son in a wild dual role in Toxic, also spoke about the commonality he shares with Nayanthara. "She's someone like me who is not very good at promotions. This is not because we want to be this way, but because we don't really know how and what to talk about at these things."

Toxic is directed by Geetu Mohandas, who co-wrote the film along with Yash. “When Geetu Mohandas came to me with the idea, she had a burning passion and desire to show the world what she’s capable of doing and what true cinema can be," he said, adding that he always believed in people's passion rather than their past success. "If I was successful in my previous film [KGF], it’s not just because of my work. A lot of people would worked hard behind it."

The actor concluded the speech by thanking his wife and former actress Radhika Pandit. "I’m a difficult person to be with. And this particular film was demanding and I’ve pushed myself beyond my comfort zone to give the right content with the right intent. I also feature in about 2-3 different looks. She has been a big support for me," he said, going on to reveal the motto he lives his life by. "I always only have one thing in mind. It’s to be honest whether it’s a relationship or film."

Toxic will be out in theatres on 26 August.
