'Toxic' will clash at the box-office with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Love & War', which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
Filmmaker Geetu Mohandas' tentpole feature film Toxic: A Fairy-Tale for Grown-Ups, headlined by KGF star Yash, is on track for a March 2026 release, contrary to industry reports that speculated that the film might be pushed amid production delays.
The upcoming action thriller will be the first film of Yash since he found nationwide popularity with the blockbuster KGF franchise. Produced by Venkat K Narayana and Yash, the film will clash at the box-office with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
Trade critic Taran Adarsh took to X and shared that he spoke to the producers of Toxic: A Fairy-Tale for Grown-Ups, who rubbished that the film might miss the Eid 2026 release date.
"Stop the rumours... Yash's next film 'Toxic' is not delayed or postponed – 19 March 2026 release confirmed… Spoke to the producers – #Toxic is firmly on track for its [Thursday] 19 March 2026 release, perfectly timed for the festive weekend of #Ugadi, #GudiPadwa, and #Eid," his tweet read.
Reports claimed that the star was re-shooting portions of the film, which would invariably delay the post-production. Adarsh, however, stated that the post-production of Toxic: A Fairy-Tale for Grown-Ups began while Yash was filming for the epic Ramayana in Mumbai.
"The team is now completing the final portions of the shoot and will commence full-fledged promotions in Jan 2026. Shot simultaneously in English and Kannada, Toxic will also be dubbed in multiple Indian and international languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam," the tweet read.
Billed as a stylish, noir-inspired thriller, Toxic: A Fairy-Tale for Grown-Ups also stars Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Nayanthara and Tara Sutaria.
Toxic: A Fairy-Tale for Grown-Ups is among the most anticipated films of next year as it is the first film of Yash after KGF: Chapter 2 (2022), which shattered records with a global haul exceeding ₹1,300 crore.
