The makers of the upcoming drama The Taj Story have issued a clarification stating that the Paresh Rawal-starrer doesn't claim that a "Shiv temple resides within the Taj Mahal," after one of its posters alluded to the same. The film is written and directed by Tushar Amrish Goel, and also stars Amruta Khanvilkar, Namit Das and Sneha Wagh.

On late Tuesday evening, Rawal took to X and posted the clarification, which stated, "The makers of the film 'The Taj Story' clarify that the movie does not deal with any religious matters, nor does it claim that a Shiv temple resides within the Taj Mahal. It focuses solely on historical facts. We would kindly request you to watch the film and form your own opinion. Thank you. Swarnim Global Services Pvt. Ltd."
Another publicity material from the film, shared by Rawal, questioned whether Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan indeed built the Taj Mahal. "You know the monument, but do you know the story? The truth behind the world's most beautiful wonder is about to be uncovered," read Rawal's caption.
The makers had earlier launched a teaser of the film to begin its campaign, featuring a courtroom sequence headlined by Rawal. The Taj Story is gearing up to release theatrically on October 31.
The film will be releasing 10 days after Rawal's other theatrical outing, Thamma, the latest entrant in Maddock's horror comedy universe. Thamma is led by Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna and is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, who had helmed the superhit Munjya.
Apart from these films, Rawal will also be seen in Akshay Kumar-starrer Bhoot Bangla and Hera Pheri 3, both directed by Priyadarshan.
