Yash's upcoming gangster-drama Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups has received an 'A' certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film has now been cleared before its theatrical release on August 26.
According to the CBFC certification details, the film was certified by the Bengaluru regional office on Thursday, August 13. The certification also lists its language as Kannada and its certified length as 194.12 minutes.
On the same day, at the film's Mumbai audio launch, Yash shared an endearing bit about how he and Mohandas guarded a pregnant Kiara Advani, his co-star in the film, "like a bouncer or bodyguard" while filming on set.
Toxic also marks Advani's first release since her pregnancy. During the audio launch, Yash also commented on the actor's professionalism, impressive commitment and admits feeling a little nervous because of the film's demanding nature.
"I think she is such a professional actor. She came into this film; I was a little worried because it's too demanding. But the way she dedicated herself even after she was pregnant, she came with 100% commitment. I was worried; Geetu was more worried. We were like bouncers/ bodyguards on set; we used to take care of her, but she has really dedicated herself. Thank you, Kiara; this one is special," he added.
During Toxic's trailer launch event in Bangalore on August 8, Yash also opened up about the film the dedication of the entire team that worked alongside him to bring this massive vision to life.
"I believe in one thing, now it is no more Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, this is an Indian film," he said, adding that the film saw fruition because successful and talented people left their egos behind. "They have just come with one cause: to put an Indian film on a global platform," he said.
