Actor Yash has clarified that his upcoming gangster drama Toxic is strictly for adults, stressing that its intense action, violence and intimate scenes make it unsuitable for children. Marketed as “A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups,” the film has received an A certificate from the CBFC, runs over three hours, and explores layered, morally complex characters in a dark, twisted narrative.
In an appearance on the television program Aap Ki Adalat, actor Yash addressed audiences regarding his highly awaited upcoming gangster drama, Toxic, stating clearly that the film was not made for children and that its content, which includes action, violence and intimate scenes, is designed for adult viewers. "Children shouldn't watch this film. They should stay at home. It hasn't been made for children, and that's very clear," he said.
Pointing to the film's tagline - A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups - the actor explained that it has been made clear right from the start that the film is intended for mature audiences only. "Adults know what is right and wrong. They can choose what they want to see, what they want to learn from the film, and what they don't want to do in life. But the film is very genuine and has a deep story,” he said.
He further elaborated that each layer of his character in the film needs to be explored as the story progresses, and that each character needs to be presented truthfully and naturally for the desired impact of the film to shine through.
Earlier this month, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) certified the film 'A' rated, sealing the viewership to ages 18+ only. The board also cleared the film's release for August 26.
According to the certification details, the film was certified by the Bengaluru regional office on Thursday, August 13. The certification also lists its language as Kannada and its certified length as 194.12 minutes.
