In 2025, Indian fashion has been impossible to ignore. Trends went by faster than a doomscroll through Instagram before bedtime, and celebrities — perhaps, their stylists — kept pace with every change. From Sonam Kapoor turning heads for Dior to Ananya Panday becoming Chanel’s latest muse, it’s been a year of show-stopping moments. Indian textiles graced red carpets worldwide, while films at international festivals showcased a side of Indian couture the world hadn’t seen before.
It was full of surprises — who expected to see Shah Rukh Khan at the Met Gala? But also, brought one back to the age-old question: what is true, bona fide style and more importantly, who’s got it?

Samantha Ruth Prabhu wore a vermillion-coloured saree at her wedding recently, brought to life by designer Arpita Mehta. Artist Jayanti Bose designed bespoke motifs that adorned the blouse, and the entire saree was woven by a single master artisan, over two to three weeks.

At the Red Sea International Film Festival in December, Bhatt opted for a Pierre Balmain, 1955. The dress is part of the designer's exclusive Florilége line, hand-finished couture gowns sold in the brand's boutique and certain luxury department store only. She was styled by Rhea Kapoor and paired the gown with a necklace from Sanjay Gupta, earrings from Anmol Jewellers, a ring from Shanti Brothers & Co., and of course, sunglasses from Gucci.

Chanel’s latest brand ambassador is India’s beloved fashionista. For a night out with the brand, she wore a black dress with a high neck and an asymmetrical hemline. Styled by Priyanka Kapadia, the Call Me Bae actor kept it simple with a classic Chanel bag and minimal jewellery.

India’s favourite 'desi girl' was the talk of the town at the Varanasi Globetrotter Event. In a custom Anamika Khanna lehenga, styled by Ami Patel, the actor looked as regal as ever.

Expecting her first child, Advani walked up the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Arts wearing custom Gaurav Gupta, in May, at the Met Gala. Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, the black gown featured a gold breastplate adorned with crystals. A contrasting white train at the back completed the look.

In a charcoal grey Anamika Khanna sherwani, styled by Harmann Kaur, Deverakonda turned heads at the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) event in May. The Family Star actor, who participated in a discussion titled ‘Cinema: The Soft Power’ paired it with jewellery by VRK Jewels and sleek black shoes.

The Mumbai premiere of Homebound in September witnessed Kapoor pay tribute to her late mother. She wore an archival blue-and-gold saree by Manish Malhotra, once worn by Sridevi herself. Styled by Meagan Concessio, the actor paired it with a black velvet blouse, traditional gold jewellery and a sleek bun.

Kapoor Khan returned as the face of Lakmé at the 25th anniversary celebration of Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI in March. Wearing a white Manish Malhotra ensemble featuring intricate embroidery and embellishments, she paired it with a lace blouse. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, the look was completed with a diamond necklace.

Kapoor attended designer Anamika Khanna’s AK|OK showcase at London Fashion Week in September, in an ensemble styled by her sister, Rhea Kapoor. Bhatia opted for an Audrey Hepburn-inspired look at the Bvlgari Serpenti Infinito Exhibition gala in Mumbai this October. Styled by Leepakshi Ellawadi, the actor wore a blush-pink gown with a bow in the centre by İlkyaz Özel paired with jewels by Bvlgari, and pink satin heels to match.

Daggubati wore a classic black shirt with a white jacket and trousers at the Netflix and WWE Monday Night RAW Brunch. The Baahubali actor, who accessorised the look with a pair of sunglasses also attended the WWE WrestleMania 41 live at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas this April.

All eyes were on Mandanna as she flew to Los Angeles for the opening night of Swarovski’s ‘Masters of Light’ celebration in October. The newly anointed brand ambassador wore the Petal Corset Sculpt Gown from Gaurav Gupta’s upcoming Holiday 2026 collection. She paired it with Swarovski’s Millennia choker layered with several other necklaces from the brand, along with earrings and ear cuffs. The pièce de résistance? A statement belt made of large crystals and rhodium plating.
